The proprietors have run and managed Longfurrows Care Group since 1991. Currently there are three residential homes that comprise the Care Group of which Long Furrows is one and the first to be opened by Mr. and Mrs. Volf. Prior to becoming a Proprietor of Longfurrows Care Group Mrs. Volf had seven years experience of working in and managing a residential care home.

Nicole Boyd – PA to Proprietors/Accounts Manager

Nikki has extensive Office Management experience. She has previously worked in HR, personnel, finance and PA roles. She joined Long Furrows in November 2002. She previously spent 15 years as an administrator in the Army and prior to joining the team she worked as an Office Manager/PA for a small engineering company in Colchester.

Shirley Bendall – Home Manager

Shirley has been working with people in care since 1990, initially with the elderly mentally ill, people with Dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke and epilepsy. In1997 she moved into caring for people with challenging behaviour and learning disabilities and became involved in assessing and training staff towards NVQ.
Since 2002 she has been a member of the Charted Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management. Shirley holds NVQ Level 4 in Management, D32/33 NVQ Assessors Awards and NVQ Level 3 in Care.

Geraldine Ling -

Geraldine is employed as Assistant Home Manager at Long Furrows. She joined Long Furrows in March 2000 as a Carer. In October of that year Geraldine became a Senior Carer and having gained further management experience, she was appointed as Home Manager in November 2002. She has extensive experience in the field of care, having spent the last 11 years as a carer.
